Ancestry:
Nadeena is a descendant of the Wiradjuri, Yuin & Dharug nations
of NSW. Nadeena was born in Sydney with an Aboriginal and Scottish heritage.
Artistic Style &
Influence:
A vocalist, songwriter and performer, Nadeena's musical style includes
elements of Hip Hop, Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Indigenous grooves, Funk &
Dance. Nadeena has a style and dedication that only comes from many
years of artistic development. Nadeena's powerful and beautiful voice
take her audience on an emotional, spiritual and even political journey
across the reality of Aboriginal existence.
Nadeena often performs with
her mother to produce a beautiful Indigenous folk & contemporary
music show for all occasions. Singing of identity, the land, the life
and the dreaming of the Aboriginal people of Australia, the didgeridoo
rhythms are used to drive the story telling.
Acclaims:
An accomplished artist, Nadeena is a former student of The Centre of
Aboriginal Studies in Music (C.A.S.M). Nadeena has already performed
with the best Indigenous artists in this country including Yothu Yindi,
Christine Anu, Archie Roach, Ruby Hunter and Kev Carmody. Nadeena is
an Indigenous RnB Hip Hop vocalist/workshop teacher at TAFE and a guest
lecturer for the young women's Hip Hop music program - 'Hip Hop 4 Da
Ladiez' - South Sydney Youth Services. Currently the only RnB Hip Hop
vocalist/teacher in Sydney, with over 10 years experience.
