Ancestry:
Jessica is 18 years of age, born in Manly and has lived in Cromer most
of her life. Jessica's mother is a descendent of the Yaegl tribe from
northern NSW on the Clarence River, in a town called Maclean. Her father
is of European descent with ties to Ireland & Germany.
Artistic Style &
Artistic Influence:
Jessica's grandmother - Jessica Randall & her mother Lois Birk provided
much of the inspiration for Deadly Duubs, part of Jessi's major HSC
work.
The style of work, which
Jessica produces, is predominately esoteric and abstract. Her paintings
explore emotions and memories through colours, patterns and textures.
Previous works have explored themes such as her identity, culture, family,
matriarchal lineage and other subjective issues. Jessica is studying
a Bachelor of Fine Arts at College of Fine Arts , UNSW.

Exhibitions/Collections/Studies:
Jessica has already had her art displayed in the Manly Art Gallery &
Museum - 'Express Yourself 2003' & the Art Gallery of NSW - 'Art
express'
She also participated in a group exhibition “Angwirri Adyi”
on the North Coast ,Maclean, at The Ulugundahi Art and Culture Gallery
.
Her works are in private and departmental collections in both Sydney
and the North Coast, as well as in the NSW Department of Education and
Training’s William Wilkins Memorial Art Collection.
Jessica’s studies include the completion of her HSC in 2002 at
Cromer High, an intensive printing workshop at the National Art School
in 2002, painting and ceramic classes at Broovale Tafe in 2001 and 2002.
Jessica is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at College of
Fine Arts , UNSW.
